Donors
Four special features of community foundations:
One: partnership.
The hallmark of our foundation is our strength in partnering with prospective donors, current fund holders and our advisory firm. We customize giving approaches to match potential donors' interests and needs. We make giving easy, flexible and effective, accepting a wide variety of gifts and providing donors the greatest flexibility. You can contribute cash, stocks, property, and bequests. You may establish an Unrestricted, Field of Interest, Designated or Donor Advised Fund in your name or in the name of a loved one. Your gift will gain maximum tax advantage.
Two: safeguarding.
The Foundation ensures that the original intent of your fund is protected forever. If in the future, even decades from now, the nonprofit that your fund supports goes out of business, the Foundation will find a like-minded organization for your fund to support.
Three: local expertise.
Our professional staff has an in-depth understanding of the issues, opportunities and resources that shape our community. Because of our strong ties to the community, we can help you learn more about local agencies and programs that make a difference in areas you care about the most.
Four: community leadership.
We act as a community catalyst, which helps build endowments to ensure that financial resources are available to support the community through high-impact opportunities. In addition, the Community Foundation serves as a convenor of stakeholders around important regional issues like homelessness and food security, childcare and environmental quality.
