Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts Seeks Applications for First-Ever Critical Community Needs Grants

The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts (CFNCM) is now accepting grant applications for its first-ever Critical Community Needs Grants.

“The Critical Community Needs program focuses on especially severe challenges to the welfare and safety of people in North Central Massachusetts,” said Stephen Adams, president of the Community Foundation. “This year we are accepting applications for programs and projects operating within our 33-community region that seek to address homelessness, especially low-threshold services; opioid and other substance use disorders; and suicide prevention.”

The CFNCM is accepting grant applications through Wednesday, November 25, 2020 and award decisions will be finalized by December 17. Submit an application here

Application Requirements

The CFNCM supports programs, projects and initiatives that address the Foundation's goals and action areas, are executed by nonprofit organizations, and align with the applicant's mission.

Proposals for these competitive grants should address each of the following principles:

  • Capacity for impact: Demonstrate capacity and potential for achieving and sustaining long-term impact.
  • Plan of action: Include a plan of action with evidence that the plan is likely to achieve its intended outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Leverage new and/or existing resources, organizations, relationships, initiatives and investments to improve the likelihood of significant impact, efficiency and sustainability.
  • Gauging progress: Include measurable objectives and outcomes with a plan to monitor progress.
