Foundation distributes $1.2M

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts made $1,288,329 in charitable distributions from discretionary, advised and scholarship funds for its most recently completed quarter.

The Community Foundation, which has over 180 charitable funds that have been established by donors, said 48 of its funds made distributions and grants to programs in the area of education, health, environmental causes, and arts and culture programs.

“These distributions from our generous donors are making a real difference,” said Phil Grzewinski, president of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.

All the awards for the quarter—148 in total—came from funds established by donors to benefit a community cause, specific nonprofit or provide scholarships.

The following nonprofits received distributions from donor funds at the Foundation: Ashby First Parish Church, Ashby Free Public Library, Boys and Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster, Clinton YMCA, Community Health Connections/Family Health Center, Doctors without Borders, Fitchburg Access Television Fund, Fitchburg Historical Society, GAAAFSN, Girl Up, Greater Ennis United Way, Greater Gardner USBC Association, Inc., Groton Conservation Trust, Indian Hill Music, Inc., Leominster Education Foundation, Lua Viet Youth Association, Mount  Wachusett Community College Foundation, Inc., Mount Wachusett Community College/United Way Youth Venture, North County Honor Flight, Our Father's House, Inc., Ryan C. Joubert Memorial Foundation, United Way of North Central Massachusetts, Oakmont Student Activity Fund, St. Leo School, NEADS, Townsend Police Department, Townsend Congregational Church, Ryan Patrick Jones Heart of a Hero Foundation, Nashua River Watershed Association, Inc., Nashua Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America Fund, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter, Narragansett Regional School Committee, Nashoba Park Activities Fund, NMRS Scholarship Foundation, North Middlesex Regional High School, North Middlesex Regional School District, Ohio Tornados Baseball Club, Pepperell Youth Baseball & Softball League, River Cities United Way,TAYSA, United Way of Central Alabama, United Way of Greater Stark County, United Way of Laurens County, Nineteen Carter, Social Venture Partners Boston and Netherlands Telegu Community - NLT.

And the following funds made distributions to support their charitable mission: SHINE Initiative, Monty Tech Vet Clinic Fund, Fitchburg Riverfront Parks and Trails Fund, Estelle R. Ford Future Nurses Scholarship Fund, Southborough Library Fund, Red Raiders Lending Library, Fitchburg Greenway Fund, Monty Tech Foundation Fund, ACE - Animal Care & Education Central Massachusetts Fund, Beers For Good Fund, Nashoba Valley Community Health Care Fund, Southborough Library Fund, Moran Fund, Brittany's Fund, Fitchburg Public School Education Foundation, Fitchburg Public School Extra Curricular Fund, Gregory E. Reeves Memorial Scholarship Fund, Robert C. Langlois Golf Classic Fund, Francis S. Marston Trust Fund, Makenzie Goode Memorial Athletic Scholarship Fund, Cheryl Cetrino-Fish Scholarship Fund, Mark Osowski Memorial Scholarship Fund and Pearl A. Russell Mathematics Scholarship Fund.

Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded over $40 million in grants and distributions from over 180 funds that have been established by individuals, families and organizations.
