Community Foundation names fund to honor emeritus trustee
Fitchburg, Mass. (April 14, 2017)
– The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts has created the Richard W. Nobile Operational Fund, which will be used to further the work of the organization.
“Dick was a driving force behind the creation and nurturing of the Foundation, which today has over 180 charitable donor funds,” said Phil Grzewinski, president of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.
According to Grzewinski, Nobile was instrumental in launching the nonprofit organization 16-years ago, which was created to serve the charitable interest of donors and nonprofit organizations in 33 communities in greater North Central Massachusetts.
“The timing was right to create this fund. Dick was recently elected emeritus trustee, after serving as a trustee, and we wanted to recognize Dick’s contribution forever, as well as ensure that the work of the Foundation continues in perpetuity and this fund will make that happen,” Grzewinski said.
In addition to individuals and businesses creating donor advised and scholarship funds for their charitable interest, the foundation encourages nonprofits to create permanent funds to provide ongoing source of support for their work.
