Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts makes a new round of distributions
For Immediate Release (Mar. 18, 2015)
– The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts made $899,653 in distribution during its most recently completed quarter.
The Community Foundation, which has over 170 charitable funds that have been established by donors, said 31 of its funds made distributions to local programs, for a variety of causes.
“The breadth of the grants is always impressive—from providing basic needs to preserving local history,” said Phil Grzewinski, president of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.
All the awards for the quarter—156 grants—came from funds established by donors to benefit a community cause, specific nonprofit or provide scholarships.
To support the region’s basic needs, the foundation has a critical needs fund that provides grants for food, housing and utility assistance, which made a series of recent grants. “Donations to the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts Endowed Fund for Critical Needs can be made by anyone online at cfncm.org,” added Grzewinski.
