Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts Announces Quarterly Distributions
Fitchburg, Mass. (April 24, 2014) – The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts made $682,000 in distribution during the first quarter of the year.
The Community Foundation, which has nearly 160 charitable funds that have been established by donors, said 34 of its funds made distributions to local programs, for a variety of causes.
“We continue to see a wide range of programs receiving important financial support they need to carry out their work,”said Phil Grzewinski, president of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.
All the awards for the quarter—88 grants—came from funds established by donors to benefit a specific nonprofit or provide scholarships.
Since its inception, the foundation has awarded over $35 million in grants and distributions from nearly 160 funds that have been established by individuals, families and organizations.
