Fitchburg, Mass – Arc Community Services’ capital campaign has received a significant boost, thanks to a $600,000 gift from the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.
In making the announcement, Phil Grzewinski, president of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts, noted that this is one of the largest gift the foundation has ever made from a donor-advised fund.
“The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, wants to see the project completed so it can continue to provide vital services to those with developmental and intellectual disabilities,” Grzewinski said.
“This is an incredible donation; it will ensure that we can complete the project,” said Mary Heafy, president and CEO of the Alliance for Resource Management at Arc Community Services.
Heafy said that once the improvements were made, their clients would move from the basement to the first floor of their Main Street facility.
With this recent gift, Arc Community Services has raised $3.3 million toward the project and is actively seeking $1 million to complete the project through grants and donations. The organization provides advocacy, education, employment, residential and recreational services for persons with disabilities.
